PUFFY BALL GOWNS
You may feel like you’ve achieved your Disney princess fantasy but the practicality of a puffy dress isn’t realistic. You’re going to spend most of the night getting stepped on and grabbing it so that you can move on the dance floor. Also, it creates so much space between you and your groom…Unless you are planning a second dress for the reception please save yourself some stress and avoid this style.
STRAPLESS
Every wedding I have ever attended where the bride opts for a strapless gown has been uncomfortable to watch. She spends most of the night hoisting it up to keep it in place or hunching over so nothing pops out. Since hopefully you won’t be standing still the entire evening, I suggest finding something that is a little more movement friendly with straps so you don’t have to worry about pulling a Janet Jackson at the super bowl.
THE HIDDEN CONVERSE SNEAKER TREND
This just makes me cringe every time I see it. I understand heels are not comfortable but there are so many gel inserts you can use in your heels to alleviate any discomfort. I die a little inside when I see brides walk around in sneakers or barefoot. It just kills the fantasy for me. If it is a beach wedding, you get a pass.
TWO PIECE/CROP TOP
This never looks as good as you think it might. If you are absolutely set on this trend save it for the bachelorette party, the reception, or after party.
TIARAS
If you are not an actual legitimate princess, please don’t go for the tiara moment. It ends up being crooked a majority of the time.

MIX OF FABRICS
I love dresses that aren’t full lace or full satin. Having a nice element of both gives the dress dimension and character.
SLEEVES
Sleeves are underrated. This adds a level of sophistication, drama, and elegance. They also look amazing in photos.
CAPES
Capes are a great new way to spice up your gown and ditch the tradition veil.
LOW BACK
In my opinion the back of the dress is just as important as the front. People will be looking and photographing you from every angle. This is a great way to add a sexy element to your gown. I would much rather a low back than too much cleavage on a bride.
TIMELESS
Try to not get a dress because it is trendy. Most of the time brides that do this end up hating their wedding dress years later. Look at all of the brides from the 80s. Find something true to you, your style/shape, and your relationship with your partner. Wear the dress, do not let the dress outshine you.
